Vacation, holidays and floater days

Taking time off work is integral to wellbeing, sustained productivity and high performance. Taking a break reduces stress and helps you relax.

Vacation entitlement is based on a calendar year and prorated from your hire date:
Less than ten years: 15 days
10+ years or manager and higher level: 20 days
20+ years: 25 days

In addition to the observance of provincial statutory holidays, you’ll have three additional floater days annually to help you manage your personal commitments. The total number of statutory and floater holidays per year will vary by office (depending on the provincial requirements for that location). For instance, an associate or senior associate with less than ten years of service would be entitled to up to 32/33* total annual paid days off:

  • 15 days vacation (annualized for full-time, permanent staff)
  • 14/15 firm-wide holidays*
  • 2/3 floater days*
*based on the province of residence

Specialized parental leave coaching and training

We want you to thrive as a parent and feel supported as you pursue and achieve your professional and family goals. We offer specialized coaching to set you and your team up for a supportive transition so that you can focus on your family during your leave and successfully re-onboard with your long term career goals in mind.

I joined the firm in 2007 as an administrative assistant and advanced to a team lead role. In 2014, an opportunity opened up for me to support the Consulting strategy in Montréal. Eventually, my passion for optimizing processes and teaching new systems led me to join the Workday team, where I am now a Functional Architect and Product Lead. Looking back, I can see exactly how my experiences and encounters at PwC shaped my career path. I’m grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way.

For the last 3 years, I have been on an 80% reduced schedule which allows me to balance my professional goals and family commitments as a mother of three active children. I am also able to contribute to my community as a Board member for several not-for-profit organizations that are close to my heart.

The International Remote Work program is a massive advantage as my significant other is studying abroad in Dublin. I’m able to visit him for longer periods of time and still manage to work. It really feels like a privilege to have the ability to utilize this program so that I can see the important people in my life!

Your development

We take your professional development seriously and believe it's a shared responsibility. Our approach is tailored to help you realize your potential, think like a leader and take responsibility for building your career in a way that speaks to our shared values.

PwC Professional

At the core of your development experience is our global career progression framework, the PwC Professional. Supporting the firm’s high-performance culture, the framework outlines the skills and capabilities we all need to develop to meet our business objectives and deliver a consistent, outstanding experience to our clients, people and communities.

Enhanced working practices (EWP)

A key element of developing as a PwC Professional is our award-winning approach to on-the-job coaching—EWP. EWP enables you to develop yourself and others every day. At the heart of our EWP approach is the concept of teach, don’t tell—the use of open-ended questions that teaches our people to think and learn—supported by on-the-job routines such as shadowing, lessons learned, observation and feedback.

Our people become PwC Professionals through a combination of on-the-job experience, formal training and learning from others. Through Vantage, our digital learning system, you’ll have access to curated educational materials from multiple trusted sources. Coaching

We want you to achieve your full potential. You'll be assigned a coach on your first day with us to help you develop your skills, diversify your experiences and achieve your career goals. Coaching strengthens PwC Canada one conversation at a time and it's an integral component of how we work together to share relationships, ideas and knowledge.
