You’re what sets us apart and pushes us forward.

Our goal is to help you perform at your best at work.
That’s why our Total Rewards package is more than just your salary.

Be well, work well

Now, more than ever, we understand the importance of our people’s physical and mental wellness. Be well, work well is about putting the power of our resources behind you to help support your journey to greater physical and mental wellbeing.

Ways of Working: Hybrid-Working Model

We're committed to cultivating an inclusive, hybrid work environment. We work in-person and virtually, as is best suited for our clients, teams and people. PwC offices are hubs of connectivity and learning. We strongly encourage our people to prioritize in-person work, whether it’s in the office or at a client site. This means we expect you to be in-person (either with clients or in the office) at least half of your time. We know that hybrid work is all about balance and we want you to be intentional with your work, how you do it and where it’s done.

Family Building Benefits

In addition to offering maternity top-ups for birth mothers, PwC Canada provides supplemental financial support (that matches the maternity leave benefit) to all eligible parents at the birth or adoption of their child.

At PwC Canada, we understand that growing a family can take many forms and comes with additional expenses. To support you in your journey towards parenthood, we offer enhanced family building benefits including up to $10,000 for Fertility Drugs and up to $20,000 for Fertility, Surrogacy and Adoption services.

Employee & Family Assistance (EFAP) and LifeSpeak

Our EFAP consultative and information support services include legal, financial, nutritional, naturopathic, family support, community referrals and health coaching.

In addition, LifeSpeak is a total wellbeing platform that gives you and your family instant access to expert advice on a wide range of topics. You can watch videos, download action plans and interact with world-class experts in real time. The EFAP and LifeSpeak programs are available anywhere, anytime and are completely confidential.

Mental health benefit

You and each of your dependents have access to $2,500 a year for mental health coverage. You may use the funds toward services provided by licensed practitioners such as psychologists, social workers, clinical counsellors, psychoanalysts, psychotherapists, marriage and family therapists.

Wellbeing and lifestyle benefit

You can maintain a healthy lifestyle at PwC Canada with our wellbeing and lifestyle benefit. You may use it to cover a variety of expenses such as exercise equipment, health club dues, athletic clothing, nutritionist consultations and even art therapy.

Virtual Health Care

Take care of you and your family with Lumino Health Virtual Care, provided by Dialogue. Offered through your benefits package, a team of health specialists is at your fingertips ranging from consultations, diagnoses, referrals, prescriptions and much more at your convenience.

Flexibility, time off and other family support options

We understand that balancing your professional and personal goals and commitments is important to you. We’re committed to creating an environment where you can thrive both personally and professionally. A variety of tools and resources are here to help you find the right balance.

We encourage you to work flexibly when it meets the needs of your team, clients and you personally. You have multiple options at your disposal, such as reduced or variable hours, compressed work weeks and short-term flexible time away.

We encourage you to decide what flexibility means to you in the context of your role requirements. Have a conversation with your coach, relationship leader or partner if you’re interested in working differently.

Vacation, holidays and floater days

Taking time off work is integral to wellbeing, sustained productivity and high performance. Taking a break reduces stress and helps you relax.

Vacation entitlement is based on a calendar year and prorated from your hire date:
Less than ten years: 15 days
10+ years or manager and higher level: 20 days
20+ years: 25 days

In addition to the observance of provincial statutory holidays, you’ll have three additional floater days annually to help you manage your personal commitments. The total number of statutory and floater holidays per year will vary by office (depending on the provincial requirements for that location). For instance, an associate or senior associate with less than ten years of service would be entitled to up to 32/33* total annual paid days off:

  • 15 days vacation (annualized for full-time, permanent staff)
  • 14/15 firm-wide holidays*
  • 2/3 floater days*
*based on the province of residence

Specialized parental leave coaching and training

We want you to thrive as a parent and feel supported as you pursue and achieve your professional and family goals. We offer specialized coaching to set you and your team up for a supportive transition so that you can focus on your family during your leave and successfully re-onboard with your long term career goals in mind.

Your development

We take your professional development seriously and believe it's a shared responsibility. Our approach is tailored to help you realize your potential, think like a leader and take responsibility for building your career in a way that speaks to our shared values.

PwC Professional

At the core of your development experience is our global career progression framework, the PwC Professional. Supporting the firm’s high-performance culture, the framework outlines the skills and capabilities we all need to develop to meet our business objectives and deliver a consistent, outstanding experience to our clients, people and communities.

Enhanced working practices (EWP)

A key element of developing as a PwC Professional is our award-winning approach to on-the-job coaching—EWP. EWP enables you to develop yourself and others every day. At the heart of our EWP approach is the concept of teach, don’t tell—the use of open-ended questions that teaches our people to think and learn—supported by on-the-job routines such as shadowing, lessons learned, observation and feedback.

Our people become PwC Professionals through a combination of on-the-job experience, formal training and learning from others. Through Vantage, our digital learning system, you’ll have access to curated educational materials from multiple trusted sources. These materials will be personalized to you and available when you need them. This development approach makes our people architects of their own careers.

We want you to achieve your full potential. You'll be assigned a coach on your first day with us to help you develop your skills, diversify your experiences and achieve your career goals. Coaching strengthens PwC Canada one conversation at a time and it's an integral component of how we work together to share relationships, ideas and knowledge.

Rewards and recognition

We believe showing our appreciation for one another and recognizing great efforts helps us create leaders and inspire our people.

Our employee recognition platform allows you to celebrate your colleagues for their outstanding impact. As a member of Bravo!, you can show your appreciation for others by sending them a thank you message and/or reward them with points redeemable for amazing gifts and experiences.

Staff appreciation days

All eligible staff are entitled to two staff appreciation days annually, over and above annual vacation entitlement, statutory holidays and personal floater days. These two days are allocated to the annual December holiday office closure period.

Long-service awards

On your fifth and subsequent five-year intervals with us, you’ll be recognized for your commitment and loyalty.
